Chubb Internship Program

This position will report into the Immediate Solutions Group (ISG). ISG handles customer phone and electronic intake for claim submissions and inquiries. The work schedule is Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, daily schedule determined by management.

 Internship Job Description:


  • Reviewing internal software to handle electronically submitted claims and documents for all lines of business (Property, Auto, Casualty, Small Commercial, Worker’s Compensation)

  • Completing New Loss setups within the appropriate Service Line Agreements (SLA)

  • Responding to agents and customers timely and courteously via electronic and telephone channels

  • Learning how to deliver exceptional customer service through written and verbal communication

  • Experiencing first-hand customer interaction via our inquiry and first notice of loss phone tree

Desired Qualifications:


  • At least 2 years in a business, IT, or communications major (insurance courses a plus)

  • Understanding of insurance industry

  • Basic knowledge of business practices and procedures

  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Internet usage

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Basic negotiation skills


Compensation rates are based on the intern’s collegiate class year:

Rising Sophomore-$16/hr.

Rising Junior-$18/hr.

Rising Senior-$20/hr.

Recent Graduates-$22/hr.


  • Interns are considered temporary hourly employees and are not eligible for benefits.  Interns are subject to a background check and drug screen (as are all temporary employees).

  • Positions are work-from-home and require a quiet space at home. All laptop related equipment will be provided. Some flexibility in job location is preferred when return to a Chubb workplace is approved and safe but will be voluntary. Chubb locations include NYC, Jersey City, Basking Ridge, and Whitehouse Station, NJ.
