Responsibilities
Definition and continuous development of the architecture of Equinix cloud platform for virtualization of network functions
Responsible for preparation technical studies and design proposal for NFVI and definition of architectural requirements (for RFI, RFP, FS)
Responsible for definition and governance of technological changes (consolidations of applications and HW, retirement of platforms and applications, upgrade plans) improving whole NFVI architecture in terms of cost efficiency
Maintain cloud-readiness criteria that applications must comply with for being onboarded (level of cloudification, manageability, verification tests, documentation, licensing, fulfilling platform policies, security, etc.)
Define acceptance criteria and checklist for including new infrastructure resources (provided by datacenter(s) into the Cloud Platform
Receive Product Manager's new requirements and balance these against platform efficiency for further evolution of the platform
Define requirements for connectivity between the used data centers
Communication and cooperation with 3rd parties/ vendors during tendering process or during definition of requirements on NFVI architecture
Monitoring of market trends, legislation and competition in the area of NFVI
Participation on the projects and project management governance
Work with Compliance team for help with security audits
Qualifications
10+ years experience preferably in area of network and/or IT architectures working for a communication service provider, cloud service provider or relevant equipment/software vendor
Bachelor's degree in Technical area (Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field) preferred
Detailed understanding of virtualization technologies
Experience in agile development methodologies and tools
Good understanding of requirements of network functions on NFVI
Experience in contribution to relevant standardization and industry bodies: e.g. ETSI, ONF, IETF
Hands on with openstack, neutron, distributed virtual router, and orchestration
English language – fluent (excellent verbal and written communication skills)
Main interfaces for the position: internal EQIX employees, and external 3rd parties
