SUMMARY: Responsible for the development and implementation of Crowley's strategic regulatory affairs and sustainability engagement program at the enterprise level, to include monitoring new and emerging regulations, serving as project lead where required for compliance, and execute strategies to ensure internal and external stakeholders are engaged in Crowley's sustainability ambitions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the Corporate subject matter expert on environmental issues including but not limited to vessel or facility discharges, emissions, and permitting on environmental due diligence. Ensures compliance with Envinronmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related laws, regualtions and standards. Identifies, analyzes and evaluates significant regulatory initiatives related to ESG. Recommends courses of action, implements solutions, identifies relevant training programs, and secures other thrid party experts to help business unit teams reduce regulatory risk exposure and inform appropriate management system updates. Guide and support operating unit personnel with environmental compliance. Collaborates with corporate communications to represent the company on industry associations, regulatory workgroups or other committees to identify and address issues relevant to Crowley's ESG ambitions. Develops and maintains relationships with local, state, federal and international regulators, as well as other key stakeholders to identify opportunities to accelarate Crowley's ESG ambitions, and identify other partership opportunities to support business development initiatives. Builds capacity and bench depth on issues of regulatory compliance, forward-looking regulation monitoring, and sustainability engagement to help the corporation move beyond compliance driven ESG appraoches. Oversee the monitoring, remediation, and site closure efforts at legacy contaminated sites.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, emergency management, risk management, sustainability, public administration/affairs, communications, business administration or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE: 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in progressive technical management experience in an advisory and/or development role within regulatory affairs, preferably HSSE or maritime and transportation or related field and 7 years of supervisory experience.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Must understand and have experience interpreting basic financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, etc.). Must be a world class facilitator and communicator.

Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to interface business applications with other business systems. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences and other written materials. Must have ability to understand regulatory environment that impacts entire organization and drive changes needed to comply. Knowledge of the most influential industry and agency advocacy groups in the sustainability, marine transportation, logistics and alternative energy sectors. Must have in-depth understanding of ESG principles and grasp of technologies impacting the transport and logistics sectors. Knowledge of sustainability reporting including standards such as TCFD, SASB, GRI and marine transportation emission calculations using life-cycle maritime emission calculations.

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.

FLSA STATUS: The position is Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. All work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health are expected to be respected and complied with.
