TECHNOLOGY PRACTICE - DATAMARK PUBLIC SAFETY GIS
Michael Baker International is a national leader in technology solutions supporting clients in local, state, and national government to solve complex problems with advanced technologies for the 21st century. DATAMARK, our Public Safety GIS team, consists of a skilled group of subject matter experts in Public Safety and GIS whose mission is to provide the necessary education, fact-finding, and solutions to ease the transition to and develop workflows for NG9-1-1. DATAMARK is the go-to authority on GIS data for NG9-1-1. Its data-forward, full-service but configurable NG9-1-1 solutions provide the highest levels of Public Safety GIS data completeness and accuracy. Formed in early 2018, the DATAMARK team has quickly grown to be the only provider nationwide of SaaS solutions for public safety GIS for NG9-1-1.

Essential Job Functions
The DATAMARK team is seeking a GIS Product Analyst for this fast-growing startup company to play a critical role driving product requirements and testing release items within its Product Development team. We are looking for someone with a technical background who loves taking ideas from concept to delivery.

Other duties involve:

  • Ability to translate business needs (collect, edit, and summarize) into consumable features/requirements for our development team.

  • Good understanding of application architectures, databases, APIs, etc.

  • Perform quality assurance duties, such as developing and decomposing use cases into workable requirements and testable scenarios.

  • Track and document changes to functional and business rule specifications, to include material for requirements traceability, manuals, instruction guides, technical documentation, and technical diagrams.

  • Support the product team in discovery and analysis of new features and enhancements.

  • Work closely with various stakeholders including developers and product team members to deliver functional solutions.

  • Monitor and document post-implementation problems and resolution requests.

  • Ability to perform market research as it relates to assigned work.

  • Articulate problems into actionable items to suggest improvements where applicable.

  • Provide technical editing for product deliverables and marketing materials.

  • Work on multiple projects at the same time and ensure that requirements are ready on time for review and grooming with development team.

  • Has a positive impact on attitudes of coworkers through can-do approach.

    Professional Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2-5 years of experience writing requirements for a cloud-based software.

  • 2-5 years of experience supporting or testing web-based (SaaS) applications.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical abilities, solid analytical and trouble-shooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and solve issues.

  • Ability to translate technical issues to a nontechnical audience.

  • Strong written, verbal, and organization skills.

  • Ability to manage change in a fluid environment.

  • Time management and prioritization skills.

    Desired Qualifications


  • Knowledge of GIS software especially the Esri suite of products is a plus.
