The MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) Systems Manager oversees and is responsible to ensure proper installation, start-up, operation, and maintenance of University MEP systems and related equipment. They are also responsible for the optimization and efficient operation of University MEP/HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) equipment. The successful candidate will hold strong experience in managing service mechanics and technical staff. Must have extensive design, construction, and operational knowledge of Building Automation Systems, HVAC systems, HVAC sequence of operation, building construction and the application of Automatic Temperature Control, the MEP Commissioning (Cx) process, evaluation of equipment condition, contracting, Energy Management strategies, and other building subsystems. Must have knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, and green building principles, particularly related to HVAC systems. Must possess the ability to read, interpret, direct the utilization, and train from manuals, schematics, design documents, and sequence of operations. Works with all Facilities Management Operations, Design, and Construction staff to provide system design and operational feedback and technical support. Will work closely and cohesively with MEP Systems Manager, Building Maintenance Manager, and Central Utility Plants Manager. Must be proficient in the use of various supporting software platforms such as Microsoft office, Computerized Maintenance and Management Software (CMMS), Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), and Automated Fault Detection and Diagnostics (AFDD).4 year degree in related MEP field plus technical field management experience. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered per University guidelines. Minimum 10 years working experience in HVAC/MEP related field. Must demonstrate the ability to efficiently manage multiple MEP projects, technician teams, and Commissioning specialists simultaneously.
