Job Summary:

The Project Manager serves as lead project manager on regional customer deployments of Shentel's fiber-based products. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed according to mutually agreed upon timeline of customer and Shentel and in accordance with Shentel policies and procedures. Additionally, the Project Manager is competent at the full scope of project management duties associated with the deployment of multi-service telecommunications networks. Responsibilities include the planning, management and coordination of both internal team members and external stakeholders to meet customer or internally communicated due dates as well as timely execution of projects. The Project Manager is also able to manage in a team environment, working within the operations, engineering, and construction organization(s) to develop, implement, and improve plans using best-cost principles.
Qualifications:

a. Education: BS degree in a relevant engineering or technology field is required. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry or military experience will be considered

b. Experience Level:

    i. 5 or more years of telecommunication industry experience required.

    ii. 3 or more year of project management experience required.

c. Special Requirements:

    i. Effective interpersonal skills, especially the ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively.

    ii. Problem-solving skills; analyzing difficult situations or impasses.

    iii. CAPM, PMP or similar project management certifications preferred, but not required.

    iv. Valid and current driver's license.

d. Skill Requirements:

    i. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    ii. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills

    iii. Demonstrated strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

    iv. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Knowledge of:

a. Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Project, Smartsheet, Salesforce/Milestones+ or other project management tools.

b. Experience managing multiple complex technical projects simultaneously.

c. Experience working with cross-functional teams and matrix management.
