The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The person hired for the position of Senior Manufacturing Supervisor will supervise and manage all functions involved in the production of 3M products.

• Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership


• Implementing and ensuring use of Lean Management Systems to drive continual improvements in safety, employee engagement, productivity, and quality


• Collaborating with cross functional partners such as engineering, quality, production planning and plant engineering, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization


• Leading and continually developing self and others at multiple levels of the organization through supervision, providing recognition, policy administration, continuous coaching for improvement and participation in hiring processes


• Representing plant leadership team through driving initiatives across the plant, including but not limited to supervision coverage for alternative shifts, being on-call and serving as a primary plant management representative

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to the start) from an accredited institution and minimum of three (3) years manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment or a High School Diploma, GED or higher (completed and verified prior to the start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment in lieu of the Bachelor's degree education requirement


• Three (3) years of previous leadership, supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment.


• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing Manufacturing Supervisors as well as peers and ability to influence higher levels of the organization.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment


• Minimum of three (3) years previous supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment. Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing Manufacturing Supervisors as well as peers and ability to influence higher levels of the organization


• Experience leading and coaching daily tier management process, leading and coaching improvement projects (kaizens) and leading Six Sigma Green Belt projects and have Six Sigma Green Belt certification


• Understanding of DOT and Hazardous Materials regulations


• Experience being a Manager/Supervisor in a Material Controls/Warehousing operation

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
