Job Summary

The Brewer at Four Corners Kombuchery reports to the Production Supervisor and works under the direction of the Lead Brewer.  As a key member of this team, they perform the gamut of production, cleaning, maintenance, and administrative tasks at the Kombucha Brewing Facility. The Brewer’s overall duties include, but are not limited to, brewing, cellaring, packaging, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, keeping accurate records, and keeping a clean and organized workspace and facility.

Typically, the schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but some overtime and weekend work may be required, based on the needs of the business.  We endeavor to provide adequate notice, but flexibility is often required. The candidate must possess a genuine appreciation of teamwork in a diverse culture, a willingness to learn and improve in their performance of the job, and a desire to produce the best possible quality products. 

Our starting rate of pay is $17.00/hour, but final rate of pay will be dependent upon the selected candidate's experience and/or education.

Requirements of Employment 


  • Completion of online application


  • Valid Identification showing the candidate to be at least 21 years of age

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining brewery equipment as directed by the Production Supervisor and/or Lead Brewer, and/or independently, as needed


  • Brew, cellar and package Buchalada according to the schedule set by the Production Supervisor and Lead Brewer


  • Follow best practices for safety in the brewery, cellar, and coolers, as well as while operating a pallet jack or forklift


  • Measure quality, gravity, carbonation, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and tank pressure of all Buchalada products, using instruments common to the brewing industry


  • Keep detailed records of brewing, cellaring, and lab data


  • Assist with ensuring accurate inventory when necessary and reporting discrepancies when discovered.


Required Skills & Qualifications


  • Demonstrate respect and ability to thrive in a diverse, inclusive work culture


  • At least one (1) year of experience in a commercial brewing enterprise


  • Demonstrable experience of at least one (1) year cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining fermentation tanks, bright tanks, brewing hoses and fittings, pumps and associated brewery gear


  • Knowledge of safe handling materials, tools and chemicals


  • Prior experience operating a forklift is desirable


  • Must be able to safely lift at least 50 lbs.


  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to support operations


  • Demonstrable experience in time-management, to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner


  • Must keep organized and uncluttered work, administrative and storage spaces


  • Must possess proficiency with MS Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word


  • Must possess proficient business communication skills


  • Must maintain tidy professional attire and appearance


Preferred Qualifications


  • 2+ years of brewery manufacturing experience; particularly, prior beer or specialty beverage experience


  • An understanding of quality assurance (QA) methods and techniques, laboratory operations, and a basic knowledge of chemistry and biology


  • Mechanical experience and aptitude


Physical Requirements/Work Environment 


  • The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time.


  • The employee will occasionally be required to: stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 


  • Frequent walking, bending and use of stairs and ladders are required.


  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds


  • Movements requiring hands, wrists and fingers are required regularly. 


  • Must be able to work in wet, hot, and cold conditions.


  • Must be able to work in consistently loud environment. 


  • Must be able to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals.
