Mine Supervisor at The Doe Run Company

Job Description:

Are you looking to move up in your mining career? The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mine Supervisor to delegate and monitor mining crew assignments and provide leadership to employees in order to meet production goals in a safe and efficient manner. This position is located near Viburnum, MO.

Responsibilities:


  • Determine and follow-up on shift assignments while providing leadership for crewmembers.

  • Work with geologists to keep working faces moving for maximum ore grade output.

  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of power lines, air and water lines, roads, and mine pumps.

  • Inform maintenance of daily equipment needs.

  • Perform administrative functions for mine production reports, time cards, stope, drill, and powder reports.

  • Partnering with other mine supervisors to facilitate optimum performance.

Education & Experience:


  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in an underground mine environment.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid, current driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of ore extraction and mining process methods.

  • Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements.

  • Knowledge of MSHA mine safety laws.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:


  • Regularly required to work underground and in confined spaces.

  • Frequently exposed to wet, humid (non-weather) conditions.

  • Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts.

  • Occasionally required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, fall protection, a respirator, hearing protection, and eyewear.

  • May be exposed to loud noise levels.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, talk and hear.

  • Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms.

  • Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
