The position ofJanitoris located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, "High-desert, mountain-side", community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as "The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world," is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities in Northern Nevada and Northern California. This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of standard, day-to-day janitorial duties, inside and outside assigned building, as well as periodic clean-up and prep assignment projects relating to base housing and barracks.
Under general supervision, sweeps, vacuums, shampoos, mops, strips, and waxes carpet, tile, cement, and linoleum floors, as applicable. Clean and apply appropriate measures to laminateflooring. Dust and clean interior surfaces. Cleans windows internally and externally. Maintains general cleanliness of bathroom facilities. Uses proper cleaning agents to maintain the cleanliness of sinks, urinals, commodes, and other lavatory equipment. May occasionally perform other duties of higher or lower level of difficulty as assigned.
Maintains up to date SDS documents for all chemicals used, as well as maintaining supplies inventory and timely ordering of supplies.
Reads Job Safety Analysis for identifying risks to health and safety during job specific tasks in the work place. Reads and follows Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials. Mixes various compounds used in the cleaning of building.
Provide housekeeping as assigned, to include all of the above to housing and barracks to assure cleanliness prior to occupancy
Qualifications:
Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required.
Some prior janitorial service experience preferred but not required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC's Master Training Plan.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver's license. Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
Must be able to perform work duties routinely, in a safe and effective manner, remaining alert and aware of potential work/safety hazards at all times, and especially alert, while performing safety sensitive duties.
