We are currently recruiting for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at HME, you will address and prevent the occurrence of non-conforming products from suppliers. You will also facilitate partnerships with suppliers while collaborating with internal departments in identifying improvement opportunities within the supply chain to improve quality.

What you will do in the position:

  • Lead in the collection, analysis, and presentation of supplier quality data identifying process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Work with suppliers directly, assisting in the creation of corrective action plans addressing process failures.
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes and collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Communicate with QA Management, Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain internally to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement impacting supplier quality.
  • Coordinate with QA Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure awareness to known purchased part or product quality issues and trends.
  • Participate in Design Review meetings, as needed, to ensure awareness to design changes impacting supply chain quality.
  • Visit suppliers regularly and assist in conducting supplier audits, site qualifications and evaluations.
  • Participate in QMS, materials and reliability meetings and present purchased part or product quality issues and metrics.
  • Perform or support root cause analysis investigations on purchased parts or product quality issues.
  • Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of a corrective action process and policy.
  • Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Identifies quality trends by the supplier and maintains supplier quality scorecards.
  • Recommend suppliers for qualification or disqualification to QA management based upon performance and data.
  • Support the ISO 9001 internal audit program and the internal audit team lead or internal auditor for all assigned audits as defined by QMSR and/or the Internal Audit Program Administrator.

What you will need to succeed in this position:
  • Strong verbal communication organized and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office tools: Access, Excel, Word, Visio.
  • Basic familiarity in the use and application of destructive & nondestructive inspection and test methods and related equipment.
  • Experience in interpretation of ANSI GD&T Standards.
  • Familiarity with UL and CE regulatory requirements (preferred).
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards, Certification (preferred).
  • Ability to perform basic quality trend analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge and application of ANSI Z1.4 and Mil Std 105 sampling methods.
  • Lean - Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred).
  • ASQ Certifications: CQM, CQE, CQA (preferred).
  • 10+ years related to supplier quality engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) or related field required
  • 30-50% travel required
