WWCC Faculty members are professional educators with the primary responsibility of providing a quality education for all WWCC students. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor, and facilitator of learning. Similar to on-the job training, people in the field do every day. This position will be responsible for teaching CNC classes in the Corrections Education program located at the Washington State Penitentiary.
The successful candidate will be skilled in the facilitation of learning and will teach and develop curriculum for a student-centered, modularized Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. This program includes teaching the basics of CNC operation and entry level programming, manufacturing processes, manufacturing systems, quality processes, manufacturing management and entry level CAD/CAM programming and design. The integration of industry- identified skill standards and assessments is required. Working with and maintaining the Manufacturing Skills Panel (college advisory committee), the successful candidate will ensure industry validation of curriculum and assessment, determine equipment needs for the program, and develop and secure internships for students. In addition, this individual will work collaboratively with other community colleges and baccalaureate institutions to develop articulation pathways.
