We’re looking for a passionate EUC & VDI Engineer to help us deliver and manage a new modern workplace for the entire company.

The EUC & VDI Engineer will work closely with the TechOps Workplace team covering all End-User Computing and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure services globally. In addition, this individual will partner closely with broader application teams across Elanco and enterprise architecture community to support their EUC & VDI needs.

Due to Elanco’s separation from Eli Lilly & Company, we’re taking this opportunity to design a modern workplace from the ground up. We’ve started the design and implementation process, but this is really just the beginning of this exciting change for Elanco.

The Team

The TechOps team was created following the IPO of Elanco, separating from Elanco’s previous parent company Eli Lilly & Company. TechOps is responsible for all IT Infrastructure across the enterprise and looking to take the opportunity to think differently, build for the future and leverage modern technologies, services and processes. Internally, we like to describe TechOps as a ‘start-up within an enterprise’! 

You’ll spend your time:

• Delivering new EUC & VDI projects and requirements.




• Creating high-level and low-level designs for EUC & VDI.




• Partnering with TSO (Technical Service Owner) to influence the roadmap for EUC and VDI services.




• Conducting Impact Assessments to assess impact of key updates/changes and preparing environment to handle them.




• Implementing production changes following Elanco’s Change Control process to ensure smooth implementation.




• Troubleshooting and fixing more complex EUC & VDI issues that cannot be resolved by L1 and L2 teams.




• Creating and reviewing Workplace documentation.




• Working with InfoSec on the implementation of the EUC & VDI security roadmap.




• Identifying opportunities to optimize and modernize the EUC & VDI Architecture, driving cost efficiencies.




• Identifying and positioning new EUC & VDI technologies that yield competitive advantage.




• Serving on various forums to analyze projects and programs to ensure they are technically sound, will do no harm, and will deliver the expected outcomes.




• Establishing strong partnerships across the architecture community and Information Security, helping to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.




• Where required, deep diving key initiatives to help overcome major incidents, complex problems and/or realize opportunities.




• Embedding security, privacy, data protection and quality assurance across the Workplace estate.




• Engaging in the community (internally and externally) across multiple channels, looking to share, educate and inspire. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree




• Minimum 2 yrs. experience across EUC & VDI.




• Extensive experience in an operations environment, with a basic understanding of ITIL.




• Experience with the following technologies: InTune, Windows 10, Shared Devices (Win 10 & iOS), iOS, Mac OS, Android, SCCM, VMWare Horizon Cloud and On-Prem, CyberArk EPM.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

• Experience in infrastructure engineering environments.




• Technology project leadership, managing and advancing complex, global environments.




• Designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions




• Working with a PC as a Service model.




• Working with public cloud services (e.g. Microsoft O365).




• Working with modern architecture methodologies (Service Orientated Architecture, API-Centric Design, Twelve-Factor App, FAIR, etc.).




• Demonstrated influence and communication skills across all levels of IT and third parties.




• Demonstrated strength in facilitation skills.




• Strong organizational and communications skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result.

• Occasional travel may be required.
