Job Summary: Responsible for developing and strengthening Supplier Management Programs. The ultimate measure of success is acceptably completing all APQP Quality deliverables on-time and meeting the Quality Objective Targets and PPAP by Start of Production (SOP).

Job Duties: Ensure that area of responsibility follows TS 16949 and YFAI’s Business Operating System (YF IOS) requirements.  Initiate and lead appropriate Management Quality Review (MQR) processes for problematic suppliers.  Manage incoming inspection and containment activities as required.  Manage the nonconforming area to ensure quarantined material is transacted appropriately and in a timely manner.  Document and manage supplier issues (e.g., SMRR, SCB, etc.) in the company’s system in a timely manner.  Ensure YF Suppliers are completing yearly validation requirements and storing information in the YFAI system.  Continually work with suppliers to improvement performance by applying problem solving techniques (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, etc.) and statistical methods.  Assure corrective and preventive action plans are developed and executed at assigned suppliers.  Interact routinely with production personnel, Plant Quality Engineers, Plant Process Engineers, Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to improve quality of supplied components.  Communicate and manage supplier’s process change requests with the plant quality and processing teams.  Request, review and process supplier PPAP submissions for all supplier relevant Engineering changes.  Maintain and manage supplier relevant documentation (e.g., PPAP, process change requests, deviations, drawing, etc.) for each supplier by part number.  Execute visits to supplier sites to assess, review and verify supplier processes to YFAI requirements.  Develop, organize, and maintain systems used to verify product conformance to accepted quality standards.  Communicate plant performance goals with YFAI team members.  Other duties as assigned.

Associates degree in Business administration, Engineering or similar.  *Equivalent work experience may also be considered.  10+ years of experience in the field, 5+ years in automotive.  Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.  Must have solid problem-solving skills (preferably Problem-Solving tool knowledge: KT, Six Sigma, 8D, etc).  Actively engages in implementing lessons learned, best practices during development phases, perform manufacturing readiness reviews and follow through on any open risk items to closure.  Familiar with Engineering prints.  Experience with basic metrology tools, callipers, micrometres, etc.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  TS-16949 knowledge.  Basic supervisor kills and experience.  Six Sigma Green Belt.
