The Community Outreach Liaison represents the Bank in various aspects of outreach to assess community needs while promoting awareness of Lakeland Bank's lending products, to improve business development efforts that strengthen the organization's commitment to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). The Community Outreach Liaison establishes and leverages relationships with community organizations and real estate professionals to identify, refer and generate business and lending opportunities. Through effective and needs based selling, the primary responsibility is to increase consumer lending efforts and loan application volume from low to moderate income and minority areas, with an emphasis on Reasonably Expected Market Area (REMA)- and Majority Minority Census Tract Area. This position works under minimal supervision and requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to support Lakeland Bank's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) lending goals. Originate/refer various consumer lending products such as mortgages, home equity lines and loans, auto loans, personal loans, etc. based on goals established by management.

Key Responsibilities:

    Generate and cultivate consumer lending in our assessment area/footprint and in bordering areas through business development and cold calling efforts.
  • Travel to and work from prospective customers' homes, businesses, or other locations away from the home office.

  • Follow-up on all leads and prospects regularly, either in person or virtually.

  • Manage call tracking for existing and prospective applications/referrals monthly.

  • Attain all quarterly consumer loan application goals in Majority-Minority Census Tract Area.

  • Participate in community events and affairs including outside of normal business.

  • Promote/refer all products/services.

  • Maintain knowledge of CRA compliance, industry trends and Bank products.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements


  • High School diploma

  • 5 years of business development and outbound sales experience.

  • Must possess a motivation for meeting and driving sales targets.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to think critically, strategically and analytically, with a focus on detail, in order to effectively problem solve and communicate.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Exemplary customer service and follow through skills

  • Ability to cross-sell (discuss, recommend, close) bank products and services based on customer needs

  • Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be bondable

Preferred Qualifications


  • Associates Degree in business, finance or related study.

  • Prior banking or financial services business development/outbound sales experience.

  • Multi or Bi-lingual
