JOB PURPOSE
Assist Shipping Supervisor to keep an efficient and highly productive Material Handling system. The Load Controller will keep shipping moving smoothly without possible down time.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
Prepare next day shipping orders and truck sheet loads list neatly without errors
Communicate efficiently and effectively with the Traffic Department, Scheduling department
Maintenance and all areas of Material Handling
Work up and prepare order add-ons and make corrections from order reprints
Prepare orders for leading and shipping
Product shipping, reprints and credit holds
Perform all inventory paperwork and corrections such as shift deletes
Complete billing such as weight take offs and weight shift re bills
File and boxing of orders
REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or GED is required. One or more years' experience in meat processing, or closely related industry is preferred.
Forklift / Pallet jack, Lockout / Tag out, Fall Protection, and others as required by the Shipping/Material Handling Department.
Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Spanish Bilingual skills preferred.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Use of basic math is required; knowledge of statistical process control is helpful.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management
