This position is a Manufacturing Maintenance / Engineering Technical Specialist role for the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm)-Working extended hours, other shifts as needed. Available for on-call services may be required on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities of this role are to support manufacturing activities by setting-up, monitoring, troubleshooting, correcting and or repairing production equipment and processes. This is to include day to day activities as well as preventative maintenance and project support as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The schedule for this position is 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm).

  • Set up and verify production processes and equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Adjusts equipment to ensure quality production.
  • Monitors and adjusts production processes for quality and productivity.
  • Monitors, adjusts, and repairs production processes for quality and productivity.
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment, devices, or products and corrects to within current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of process, maintenance requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Tests and/or troubleshoots PLC programs and robotics used for process automation and control.
  • Recommends improvements to existing processes and procedures which will increase productivity, reduce operational costs, improve margins, improve safety, and/or improve MXL product quality.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machines & miscellaneous production equipment in order to complete repairs/work.
  • Contribute to and perform work in accordance with preventative maintenance and process reliability programs for the facility and production equipment.
  • Proactively install, replace, or change machine components according to production specifications.
  • Repair and maintain fixturing used in various production departments.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Measure, mix, prepare, adjust, and test chemical solutions to include coating and process chemicals.
  • Perform work in accordance with applicable electrical, mechanical, and safety codes / regulations.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Inform management and supervision of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Maintain the property of the Company, internally and externally (cleanliness, snow removal, lawn care).

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, engineering / process support
  • Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) a plus
  • PLC troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Robotics programming and troubleshooting helpful
  • Knowledge of and working ability with computers, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Mechanical assembly experience
  • Understanding of Pressurized fluid delivery systems & components with the ability to assemble, document, monitor and troubleshoot.
  • Experience with electrical/controls
  • Ability to work cross functionally with Production, Maintenance & Engineering Teams.
