Job Title – Azure Data Engineer
Location – Richardson, TX (Remote until COVID)
Roles/Responsibilities:
At least 5 years of experience with Azure Cloud, ADL and ADF, Azure Synapse, SQL server, T-SQL, SSIS, with Strong SQL writing skill
Good experience in writing highly optimized code with due consideration to performance and application stability
Good experience in Relational Modeling, Dimensional Modeling and Modeling of Unstructured Data, end-to-end implementation of DWBI projects/data warehouse and mart developments, Data integration, Data Quality and data architecture
Candidate must have experience in Polybase/Azure Copy ,External tables ,Distribution methods, Azure SQL Pools vs SQL On-Demand
Knowledge in at least one programming language (Python/scala/R)
Nice to have Azure Key vault/Azure service principal (SP)/Azure Managed Identity (AMI)
Experience on metadata creation, creating report specifications, integration, test planning, testing and implementation support.
Nice to have experience with Azure SQL database.
Prepare codes for all modules according to required specification.
Monitor all production issues and inquiries and provide efficient resolution.
Evaluate all functional requirements, map documents, and troubleshoot all development processes.
Document all technical specifications and associates’ project deliverables.
Design all test cases to provide support to all systems and perform unit tests.
Perform unit testing and debugging. Able to debug most program errors
Support transition of application throughout the Product Development life cycle. Document what must be migrated. Often requires more coordination points for transitioning systems. Document what must be migrated / file properties
Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science
Passionate coder with 5-8 years of application development experience.
5+ years of success in consultative/complex deployment project, architecture, design, implementation and/or support of data and analytics solutions
Hands on development Design and Develop applications using Azure Cloud, ADL and ADF, Azure Synapse, SQL server, T-SQL, SSIS
Experience in creating tables, partitioning, bucketing, loading and aggregating data using Spark SQL/Scala
In depth understanding of Azure cloud and Data lake and Analytics solutions on Azure
Proven track record of building deep sales/technical relationships with CXO’s and practice building executives within highly strategic system integrators
Experience in managing various client relationships to get consensus on solutions
Strong debugging, problem solving and investigative skills. Ability to assimilate disparate information (log files, error messages etc.) and pursue leads to find root cause problems.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or comparable major.
Strong consulting and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with various organizations in pursuit of problem solutions.
