The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Nephrology, is searching for full-time assistant or associate professors. The appointees will participate in all clinical aspects of the multidisciplinary kidney transplant program, including the evaluation and management of transplant candidates and living donors; fulfill inpatient and outpatient responsibilities for transplant recipients and living donors and maintain a productive clinical portfolio. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants who will complement and/or expand the clinical interests of the faculty and contribute to the Transplant Institute's educational and clinical missions. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Applicants must be experienced in clinical nephrology and renal transplantation and be able to perform outpatient procedures, continuous and intermittent dialysis procedures, and native and transplant kidney biopsies. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) have satisfied the United Network for Organ Sharing requirements for designation as a primary kidney transplant physician, either through completion of a fellowship in transplant nephrology or through clinical experience.
