The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Infectious Diseases and Global Health, is searching for a full time infectious diseases specialist to serve as Associate Hospital Epidemiologist and Associate Medical Director of the Infection Control program. UChicago Medicine has an outstanding Infection Control program that is a key part of the quality and safety activities at the medical center. The appointee will have inpatient consultation responsibilities and one half-day of ambulatory clinic primarily at the University of Chicago Medical Center at the Hyde Park campus, and potentially at other sites in the University of Chicago network. Other duties include both didactic and bedside teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants with experience and/or training with a focus on hospital epidemiology and infection prevention. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) will be dependent upon qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board Certified or Eligible in Infectious Diseases.
