The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, is searching for a full time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will provide hand reconstruction and general plastic and reconstructive care to patients. This provider will assist in building a joint hand/upper extremity service with the Department of Orthopedics. The Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provides a wide range of aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries. The Section is nationally recognized for both clinical and basic research and has major external and federal funding for its research program including awards from the National Institutes of Health and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is committed to medical education, research, patient care, and serving our community. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible for Board Certification in Plastic Surgery, and 4) have completed an accredited fellowship or equivalent training in hand surgery.
