This is a fantastic opportunity to join Alvarez & Marsal's established Athens team as a Senior Director focusing on Performance Improvement / Corporate Transformation.We work with multi-national companies, high profile investment banks and Global and European private equity houses and their portfolio companies.

  • Performance Improvement

  • Setting up and running PMO/PMI roles

  • Supply network optimisation

  • Sales & operations planning

  • Logistics / distribution

  • Cost transformation including zero based budgeting

  • Finance functiontransformation

  • IT and Technology assessments

  • Business Process Improvement

  • Financial and Operational Restructuring

  • Creation of performance improvement implementation plans

  • Leading implementation of initiatives

  • Stakeholder reporting on PMO cost saving initiatives

The successful candidate will have;


  • Extensive experience across Performance Improvement / Corporate Transformation projects at a consulting firm

  • Lead the identification of performance improvement initiatives for clients; creating & leading implementation of plans alongside company management

  • Hands on experience of zero based budgeting (ZBB) and additional cost transformation methodologies

  • Researched and produced high quality client reports and recommendations

  • Managed complex work streams, including leading/mentoring A&M and client staff & owning key business processes to solve client problems

  • Lead benchmarking of financial and operational metrics to identify areas of potential underperformance

  • Lead pitch preparation alongside Managing Directors and other senior staff in addition to contributing to business development & marketing activities

The ideal applicant will possess:


  • Experience gained with the Value Creation / performance improvement team of a 'Big 4' firm or a leading Strategy / Advisory firm

  • Well-developed financial skills with a robust understanding of financial and analytical accounting (ratio analysis)

  • The ability to conduct an initial rapid diagnostic into the company's immediate and future cash needs, product profitability, cost base, major operational issues, market position and options for improvement

  • Experience in Performance improvement, including business plan development, financial projections development & review, designing and implementing cash conservation guidelines and controls

  • Experience in building integrated financial models, business plan modelling and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering complex projects and exceptional stakeholder management

  • Native Greek in additional to fluent English is essential and other European languages are highly desirable
