Summary

The Billing Analyst will communicate with a variety of customers, partners and utility agencies to gain usage history, helping prioritize deliverables, coordinating monthly billing for clients, and assisting in the development reports for energy usage.  The Analyst will help create monthly billing summary reports, implement monthly billing and review functions, and assist with customer invoicing.

Responsibilities

• 
  Support Billing Team Lead and Senior Financial Analyst
  


• 
  Support customer monthly utility billing and accounts receivable process, including interacting with the metering, account management, operations and finance teams.
  


• 
  Validate and verify customer costs and utilization.
  


• 
  Manage problem resolution for customer utility-billing issues.
  


• 
  Prioritize deliverables and coordinate timely and accurate customer monthly billing.
  


• 
  Communicate with a variety of utilities, commodity suppliers and customers to gain necessary billing and usage histories.
  


• 
  Support cash management/ lock box reconciliation.
  


• 
  Support the month-end, budget and forecast processes, as required.
  


• 
  Coordinate and assist with new customer setup in the billing system.
  


• 
  Assist in the development of customized reports to support account management team.
  


• 
  Provide back-up general phone support to account management and operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• 
  Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics or related field.
  


• 
  3-5 years’ billing experience with energy focused billing operations in corporate accounting or private industry.
  


• 
  Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  


• 
  Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization with personnel and executive management.
  


• 
  Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills with attention to details and ability to review materials for accuracy.
  


• 
  Ability to independently complete multiple time-sensitive tasks.
  


• 
  General technical ability to navigate through a variety of computer applications.


• Experience with Oracle Customer Care & Billing software.
  


• 
  Experience in Energy & Utilities billing.


• Knowledge of energy markets, protocols and transaction sets preferred
