Qualifications

To qualify for this position must have the ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to read and understand Basic English a plus. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's is required.

Managing all aspects of routing orders in accordance with time obligations and compliance to effectively meet customers' expectations.

Principle Duties and End Results:


  • Reviews reports in WMS to determine new orders ready for routing.

  • Schedules pickups with local and international carriers.

  • Manifests orders in system and prepare bills of lading and packing lists.

  • Processes drivers upon arrival and departure for scheduled pickups.

  • Identifies available doors for loading pickups.

  • Works closely with Shipping Supervisor to ensure everything has shipped according to schedule.

  • Updates shipping log to keep track of scheduled pickups of the day.

  • Maintains organized and accurate files of all outbound shipments.

  • Prepares reports for management, as required.

  • Assumes the overall responsibilities of managing assigned accounts

  • Completes all the daily functions required to maintain customers' expectations

  • Coordinate communications between the operations team and customers on statues of orders and scheduled pick-ups

  • Provide timely resolutions working with customers and internal personnel to resolve issues/discrepancies

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong customer service skills and experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to use logic and problem-solving skills to resolve issues

  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication and comprehension skills

  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly-changing environment

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, and ability to manage time effectively

  • Previous transportation/logistics/trucking industry experience preferred.

  • Proficient and accurate data entry skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with customers via telephone or in person.

  • Basic math skills.

Education/Experience

High School or equivalent, previous distribution center experience a plus.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
