PURPOSE

The successful Facilities Engineer candidate will use his/her experience to develop equipment installation requirements drawings and keep "as built" facility drawings up to date. Facilities engineers will support all equipment moves and installations with install drawings, work with trades to complete quotes for installation work, develop installation schedules and oversee all installation work. In this position, the candidate will be interacting with the engineering and manufacturing teams to update and run capacity models, analyze wafer process flows and identify opportunities for improvement of cycle time and efficiency in our Livermore MEMS fab.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


  • Create equipment installation drawings

  • Update site "as built" drawings as needed

  • Work with outside trades to provide equipment installation cost quotes

  • Develop equipment installation schedules and oversee installation of all fab equipment

  • Support manufacturing capacity models with updates as needed

  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system to track the progression of all Active Tool Projects, from initiation to completion.

  • Perform all projects to industry standards; complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations, chemical handling and following safe work habits

  • Must be able to follow and enforce Standard Operating Procedures, where applicable, and provide input, during departmental document review, for the continual improvement of departmental procedures

  • Perform work flow analysis and cycle time studies

  • Research state-of-the-art work flow design methods and tools

  • Identify opportunities to optimize batching, cycle time, and capacity

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCEAND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering or related (M.S. Industrial Engineering preferred)

  • Minimum 5-8 years industry experience

  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills

  • Ability to adopt new processes & systems quickly

  • Strong AutoCAD experience

  • Excellent MS office skills including Visio and MS Project

  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing/SPC/Data analysis (Six Sigma certification preferred)

  • Proven Project Management experience required.

  • Prior experience working in a clean room environment required

  • Ability to work with hazardous materials and chemicals and follow safety procedures.

  • Technical Writing experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Requires the ability to perform routine bending and lifting and pushing of 10 - 20 lbs,
