The Opportunity

As a flow developer in Marvell's Infrastructure Processor Team, you will play a leading role in developing next-generation automated design flows and add-on tools.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain leading-edge hierarchical P&R and/or chip integration flows for Marvell's ARM-based multi-core processor designs

  • Deploy and provide on-going support for these flows

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal integration inside the overall CAD platform

  • Create innovative solutions to ever-increasing design challenges

  • Perform tool evaluations and interface with EDA vendors to drive tool issues to resolution

  • Take designs through the flow that has been developed

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Experience creating and supporting EDA/CAD automation

  • Experience with Cadence Innovus (preferred) or other industry tools

  • Proven experience with taping out at advanced process nodes, 7nm or below. Familiarly with Finfet, Dual Patterning and ULV challenges.

  • Experience with most of the following:

    • Timing analysis and closure methods

    • Tops-down hierarchical floorplanning

    • Route planning and routability issue resolution

    • Power grid design and validation

    • Various clock synthesis schemes

    • SI, EM/IR, complex DRC rules

    • Power intent and implementation of multiple power domains

    • High speed and low power implementation techniques/trade-offs



  • Strong proficiency in Tcl, Perl and/or Python with expertise in at least one of these in the context of flow development.

  • Proficiency with programming principles such as object-oriented programming, multi-threading and data structures.

  • Good analysis and problem-solving skills. Out-of-the-box thinking

  • Team player with good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with:

    • Gate-to-gate equivalence checking

    • Parasitic extraction

    • STA

    • Physical verification (at least DRC)

    • Early rail analysis



  • Experience with implementation exploration methods

  • Experience with EDA tool benchmarks

  • Experience with event-driven flow control is a plus

Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience.

  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience.
