Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

dormakaba is seeking a Cycle Counter to join our Operations department in Indianapolis, IN! This position will be responsible for continuous cycle counts of inventory, researching all data available to assist management in maintaining accurate inventories, ensuring proper inventory and storage procedures are being followed, analyzing the origins of inventory discrepancies, etc.

PRIMARY DUTIES:


  • Physically inventory using manual or automatic methods (scales and scanners)

  • Tabulates count data and provide reports to management using excel spreadsheets

  • Provides explanations for simple stock discrepancies

  • Maintains current certification to operate lift trucks

  • Meets daily count requirements

  • Informs Production planners of any potential part shortages

  • Discovesr anomalies in the process steps between work centers, receiving, and crib locations whereby timeliness of entry into SAP is not optimal. Leverage the SAP Canceled Order Goods Issue (COGI) transaction as a source of information to investigate

  • Determines root cause of the COGI record. Analyze whether the record exists due to missing transfer posting of a substitution material, missing kanban receipt into a storage location where the next operation backflush was to occur, or slow timing of scanning a receipt of a transfer order for a pick from the crib. Investigate other anomalies as they arise and document resolution.

  • Remediates the root cause preventing it from reoccurring. Work within the supply chain planning and operations team to ensure proper master data setup including bills of materials and routings. As well, work with users of SAP to coach adherence to proper timing of postings in SAP to prevent COGI records from occurring.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must have strong math skills relevant to inventory analysis

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must have computer skills, including but not limited to, SAP, MRP and MS office products

  • Ability to keep records of activities performed

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and others

  • Willingness to learn company safety practices and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 to 5 years of experience
