The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager as part of CAES Missile Systems Environmental, Health and Safety team is responsible for driving and supporting the site. The role will ensure the site is compliant with agencies and corporate requirements. This will be accomplished by Maturing the EH&S systems on site including the buildings life safety systems and evaluate opportunities for implementing sustainable energy systems at the site. This role will be responsible for managing and tracking work place injuries, and leading root cause analysis and corrective action implementations.


  • Lead a team to provide support to the site on EHS topics. Position currently has 2 direct reports.

  • Manage workplace injuries and OSHA recordkeeping which includes injury reporting, as well as working with employees, supervisors, and medical professionals to conduct root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  • Monitor local, state, and federal regulations ensuring that our EHS procedures reflect all current regulations, develop and implement corrective actions and appropriate trainings to ensure all applicable regulations are addressed. Includes working with engineers on implementing new processes to ensure employee safety and compliance with outside regulations.

  • Evaluate opportunities to implement new environmental sustainability systems and inefficiencies in current systems to mature our EHS program. Example: Be the project owner to analyze alternative energy resources for the site to reduce cost, present recommendations to site management, and implement solution.

  • Assess the workplace for ergonomic risks, develop suggestions, and partner with department managers to implement corrective actions to reduce these risks.



  • BA/ BS Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Occupational Safety or other EHS related field

  • 5+ years of experience in people management

  • 8+ years of experience in EHS related field

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Certified Safety Professional Certification

  • 10 years working in electronics or manufacturing industry

  • 10 years working on projects/process that require city/government permitting

  • Experience with alternative energy, energy management system, and integrated Building Management Systems

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization from Production to Management, both verbally and in writing, including preparing presentations

  • Time Management & Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; strong planning and organizational skills; ability to multi-task within tight time constraints
