Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: OXY) is an international oil and gas exploration and production company, and its OxyChem subsidiary is a major North American chemical manufacturer. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Contracts Administrator within our Legal Department based in Houston, TX.

The position is in the Contracts Administration department of Oxy Energy Services, LLC, which supports Occidental Energy Marketing, Inc. (OEMI). OEMI is the marketing company of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, and markets Occidental's crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The candidate is expected to:


  • Draft, revise, analyze, and interpret a wide range of marketing and midstream contracts, including coordinating the negotiation and documentation related to natural gas, NGL, and power purchase/sale transactions. Various agreements include, but are not limited to NAESBs, ISDAs, gas transportation agreements, EEIs, and gas processing and gathering agreements.

  • Coordinate contract issues with Credit, Commercial and Legal departments.

  • Communicate and interact with traders, mid-office and other corporate stakeholders to facilitate contract negotiation and administration.

  • Process contracts and related documents in document retention system.

  • Maintain electronic contract files, including all amendments, correspondence and any other relevant documents affecting the life cycle of the contract.

  • Other duties as required, including periodic review of internal contract forms and processes.


Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree

  • Years of experience (relevant to the job): 3

  • Years of experience (relevant to industry): 5

  • Technical Skills (functional skills related to the profession): Experience with trade control processes and contract management systems. Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions generally utilized for the purchase and sale of natural gas, natural gas liquids, and crude oil in domestic physical commodity markets (including NAESBs and ISDAs).

  • Soft Skills: Self-starter and team player with a willingness to learn and ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to research contract issues in various systems and be able to communicate with external and internal personnel in order to resolve issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to coordinate well with numerous company stakeholders.

  • Computer Skills (indicate proficiency level required for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc. in addition to other non-Microsoft Office software): Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Strong organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.

  • List desired qualifications to include certifications, additional experiences, skills, etc.
