Sr. Plans Analyst needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with SOClocated in Mercury, NV.

The Work You'll Be Doing:

The Senior Plans Analyst manages the full lifecycle of the Project Planning Program. The incumbent will be responsible for working with Vulnerability Analysis and Risk Planning department personnel providing Protective Force subject matter expertise, as necessary. Supervises team of Plans Analysts (3) ensuring their daily tasks are completed as well as any additionally assigned duties.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:


  • Applicable knowledge of DOE, DOD or other government agency security orders, guides and manuals relevant to protective force operations requirements, physical security requirements and alarm system requirements.

  • Familiarity with DOE and NNSS vulnerability analysis and risk planning process, risk management process, site security plan and security force emergency response plan development.

  • Understanding of security and emergency planning documents, and of the proper relationships between these tools and performance of Protective Force.

  • Knowledgeable of NNSA Protective Force general security orders, post orders and supplemental security orders.

  • Must be able to speak and write in a grammatically correct and effective manner; experience in drafting correspondence, proofreading text, publishing documents, preparing briefings and making group presentations.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:


  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Security, Police Science, Criminal Justice, or related field.

  • Six (6) years relevant experience in a security, law enforcement, or military profession.

  • Successful participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).

  • Valid US Driver's License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver's License.

Must be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks:

* Visual acuity (e.g., needed to prepare and analyze data, to transcribe documents, to view a computer, to read, to inspect objects, to operate machinery.

* Repetitive motion of any part of the body.

* Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time.

* Ability to read complex documents in the English language.

* Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.

* Ability to write complex documents in the English language.

* Capacity to express thoughts orally.
