Summary


Our Instructional Designers (IDs) are responsible for the development of Computer-Based Training (CBTs) that are sound and meet company regulatory requirements. Instructional Designers work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) identifying learning objectives, course content, media assets (audio, images, custom interactions, and video), and assessments. IDs create high quality, engaging, learning experiences that are based on cognitive science and mastery-level learning principles while adhering to industry best practices. The ID is also responsible for testing training materials and course troubleshooting.

Years of Experience:



  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in developing computer based training materials through course authoring software such as Articulate or Captivate.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in utilizing training development/graphic design software including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Character Animator, Animate, Audition, etc.).

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.

  • Experience creating instructional content by drawing on instructional design models and best practices.

Job Duties



  • Design advanced technical courses in a range of subjects and levels according to the Instructional Design methodologies and ADDIE models.

  • Design highly creative, quality, and innovative learning solutions that are aesthetically pleasing and educate the Team Member in the identified content and/or processes.

  • Write and develop engaging and instructionally sound objectives, exercises, scenarios, interactive items, scripts, and learning assessments based on outlines, storyboards, manuals, existing content, Subject Matter Expert input, FAA guidance, scripts and any other available resource.

  • Determine accurate measures to assess learning retention.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Learn and use of Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Participate in ongoing process improvement activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
