Overview

The Director-level Technology Business Partner has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface for the purpose of leading the business technology strategy and roadmap development, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management. The role of the Technology Business Partner is to serve as the business relationship link between Digital Business Innovation (DBI) and the HR, Legal, and Education organizations at the executive level and provide highly valued strategic consulting support and guidance through key DBI initiatives.

The Technology Business Partner will lead teams to plan, design and implement efficient business and systems solutions, upgrades, and integrations for optimization of best in class business systems.

Responsibilities

Customer Business Requirements: Works with key internal stakeholder to understand business technology needs by integrating him or herself in the business. Gather and analyze data in support of proposed projects and systems requirements, partnering with business unit leaders and operations in driving business value, and continuous improvement through Agile principles and techniques.

Customer Technology Planning: Partners with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g. return on investment, productivity, compliance). Provides input to business technology planning. Identifies and researches alternative technologies to address business objectives. Oversight of production, test, and development environments.

Technology Solution Management: Participates with end users and management in the identification and evaluation of information systems requirements Overall accountability for key DBI managed technology programs and initiatives for aligned Business Unit.

Business Process Improvement: Manages the development and implementations of technologies to improve the performance of multiple business processes and increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Technology subject matter expertise and thought leadership: Proactively shares knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units. Serves as a lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology.

Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, translating technology terminology to business terms and vice-versa and accomplish results.

Collaboration: Works with cross functional teams. Ability to display leadership style flexibility to teams and adapt plan, approach and behavior to the different needs, cultures and situations. Bridge business and technology worlds to deliver outstanding results for the organization. Serves as the key point of contact for overall IT business application needs.

Qualifications

    Experience working within an Agile development environment and with software solution systems, and building and evaluating analytical tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or relevant working experience generally seen with at least 12+ years of technical, business and management experience.

  • Prior experience and deep knowledge of Workday, contract lifecycle management systems, etc.

  • Customer service mindset with experience leading and influencing stakeholders/partners at all levels, globally, across the organization.

  • A deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between IT infrastructure and the applications/services they enable.

  • Ability to drive complex design issues to a conclusion.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with an entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for customer focused innovation.

  • Ability to facilitate and influence diverse viewpoints toward a common goal.

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.

  • Full understanding of software lifecycle management.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong understanding of existing and emerging technologies.

  • Ability to effectively translate business needs into technology requirements.

  • Growth mindset and a desire to learn and continually improve is paramount.

  • Proven ability to manage projects and timelines and organize/track/document complex information with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
