Sorenson Communications, a provider of industry-leading communication offerings with an emphasis on products and services for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to assist in the development of our web, mobile, and desktop communication applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Help develop customer facing features using languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Docker
Deliver innovative solutions that increase application performance, and usability
Implement standards-based communication protocols and related technologies
Provide aggressive, attainable goals and time frames
Drive standards-based architectures and supporting services
Use of agile and rapid application development processes to speed engineering efforts
Work in a team environment to develop high-quality products
Contribute to the overall enterprise architecture and the development of product features
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education
Minimum/Preferred Education Description
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree CS, EE, or equivalent with excellent grades
Experience with text, voice, or video communication applications
Bonus experience:
Experience with WebRTC and H.264 video encoding/decoding
Experience with S3, Route 53, EC2, ECS, API gateway, Cloud Front, Cloud Trail & Lambda development in AWS
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases in AWS
Experience using source control for feature-driven development in Git/GitHub
Experience putting together CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub
Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman)
Familiarity with Netlify and Fauna
Familiarity with IP networking and telephony experience a big plus
Experience with XCode, Swift, and iOS development
Experience with Android Studio, NDK, SWIG, and JNI
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components
Ability to sit at workstation for long periods of time completing testing, documentation, or other assignments
Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
