Castleton Commodities International is hiring a Senior Accountant to join the Corporate Controllers team in Stamford. Corporate Controllers have the overall responsibility for the books and records of CCI, closing the books, preparation of financial information and ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately and timely in our financial systems. In addition, the team is responsible for ensuring solid internal controls and quality assurance of financial information.
This person will liaise closely with the Management, Treasury, Merchant Product Controllers ("MPC"), Financial Planning & Analysis ("FP&A") teams, as well as offices around the world.
Responsibilities
Legal entity ownership including monthly close activities (preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, etc), balance sheet and P&L review and analysis, legal entity reporting and audit support
Work across departments to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the legal entity books and records and timely recording of transactions and accruals
Analytical review legal entity financial information and proactively raise issues and drive remediation (e.g. funding requirements, aged balances, covenant compliance, etc)
Identification and implementation of process enhancements to achieve a more efficient and standardized process and control environment
Support the Finance department transformation including design and implementation of new ERP, process development and automation, and
Ad hoc projects and requests
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a regional or Big 4 accounting firm, CPA or CPA Candidate
US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting experience
Detail oriented
Technologically savvy with strong proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft suite
Exceptional communication skills and team player
Ability to multi-task, juggle multiple assignments at the same time, and work independently
