SUMMARY:

The Operations Supervisoris responsible functional areas of the warehouse assigned such as receiving, replenishment, shipping, and returns. In addition, the manager will ensure productivity to labor standards, adherence to the DC budgets and maintaining established service levels for each channel of orders. Tracking and controlling the quality of picking and packaging of orders is a must.

Responsibilities:


  • Plans, implements, and monitors the day-to-day operations for an area within the Distribution Center to ensure that established objectives for shipping, quality, safety, timeliness etc., are met and or exceeded.

  • Leads and contributes cost saving ideas and process improvements driving a culture of continuous improvement within the entire DC.

  • Meets labor productivity standards to assist in expense control that meets the budget plan for the year

  • Ensures that LMS standards are maintained and review reports regularly, including reviews with each team member following and tracking their individual productivity ensuring over performers are celebrate and underperformers are coached to improve to the standard.

  • Monitors loading and receiving activities and makes appropriate changes, ensuring compliance with Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

  • Routinely informs and communicates with employees to safety policies and procedures are followed.

  • Monitors and completes numerous computer-based and manual reports and related paperwork, including time records, daily logs, damage reports, etc.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, disciplining and terminating employees.

  • Makes sure all employees are trained and follow established related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

  • Interprets warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions and those are implemented.

  • Works effectively in a fast-paced distribution center environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service.

  • Ensures product flows in a timely manner and that product flow problems are identified early and are proactively resolved as measured by relevant metrics and KPIs

  • Supports the facility operating budget and KPIs by validating and achieving engineered standards, achieving and exceeding daily operating goals, and driving down non-measured / indirect hours while maintaining service levels as measured by performance to budget and KPIs

    • Meeting line item PPH goals and effective management of production hours

    • Meeting Wholesale, Retail & DTC Service level objectives



  • Ensures inventory integrity and systems integrity and execution, while maximizing productivity throughout the distribution center.

  • Ensures workforce engagement in core company values and through the effective execution of HR, LP and Safety policy and programs as measured by the reduction in employee relation incidents, recordable accidents, and inventory shrink

  • Provide leadership, training, development and mentorship for Leads and future leads.

  • Actively embraces continuous improvement through improvement of self as much as improvement of team, processes and environment.

  • Identify and implement best practices

  • Perform operational training and cross-training events

  • Create a culture of ownership and participation.

  • Formulates and executes tactical day-to-day and hour-by-hour operating plans to forecast and plan product flow, and adjust staffing based on volume and service level expectations

  • Subject matter expert, able to perform research on exceptions

  • Provides direction on key responsibilities: Productivity monitoring, reporting and feedback; quality performance and feedback; inventory integrity in all processes; safety training, reporting, and policy; and loss prevention training and awareness.

  • Demonstrates team building skills and leads by example Ensures company policies are communicated, understood, and administered.

  • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy work environment, able to show year-on-year improvements in accident and injury statistics.

  • Maintains necessary equipment and tools for the operation to succeed.

  • Partners effectively with own leadership team, as well as with teams and peers off site at other Distribution facilities and at the corporate office.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

  • Shift 4/10 3:00pm -1:30am

Required Experience:


  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a distribution center environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • AA degree from an accredited vocational, technical, or junior college institution preferred.

  • Forklift instructor certification preferred.

  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish a plus preferred.

  • Ability to read and analyze reports and data to manage effectively

  • Required to work Overtime and or Weekends as needed.

  • Prior experience with HighJump WMS, Mantissa sorter or equivalents.

  • Knowledge of Distribution operations (material handling equipment) and merchandise flow.

  • Strong leadership abilities.

  • Good communication skills both verbally and written including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong coaching and administrative skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work based on delivery schedule.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
