The Corporate Finance internship is located at our headquarters in New York City. The qualified candidate will be able to work in New York throughout the upcoming school year (June 2021 onward).

As a Finance intern, you will be exposed to meaningful project work and will receive significant exposure to Senior Management and our overall business.

If you are interested in the international dimension of finance and international business in general, the Corporate Finance group offers great challenge and a tremendous opportunity for personal as well as professional development.

Responsibilities of the Corporate Finance Tax Intern include performing a variety of functions within the Tax team which may include but are not limited to the following:



  • Assist in gathering and compiling apportionment data to be used in the preparation of S&L income tax returns




  • Handle administrative tasks associated with state tax filings in 50 jurisdictions, such as mailings, processing payments, copies, scanning, corresponding to notices etc.




  • Prepare computations and analyses for depreciation for cases where states decouple from federal depreciation




  • Prepare 2020 company income tax return calculations and forms in software for selected state tax filings




  • Prepare state tax calculations for amended tax filings




  • Assist in compiling and updating data to be used in periodic estimates and US federal income tax return filings




  • Assist in the organizing and drafting of international disclosure statements on US federal income tax return




  • Support the Manager, Tax Planning to develop streamlined subsidiary reporting of corporate transactions




  • Assist with various ad hoc planning projects



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree required




  • Currently enrolled as a first year MBA or Masters student




  • 1-3 years of prior work experience (preferred)




  • Candidate must have a distinguished academic achievement (must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher)




  • Strong oral and written communications skills




  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams




  • Strong analytical ability




  • Excellent computer skills




  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets required. Advanced excel skills a plus.




  • Prior, relevant experience the area of tax and tax software is desirable
