Dow has an exciting opportunity for Maintenance / Clean Room Technician in the F-Unit plant in Victoria, Texas.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance / Clean Room Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of process and rotating equipment. This role will also be responsible for assembly compressor cylinders and managing the clean room.


  • The role will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of process and rotating equipment used in industrial processing. The mechanical equipment may include ANSI pumps, various types of compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, mixers, extruders and agitators.

  • This job requires hands-on field work to determine cause of equipment failure, locate spare parts, and install spare parts using repair procedures and machinist techniques for alignment.

  • Clean Room duties will involve assembly of high pressure compressor cylinders, lapping, parts inspections, troubleshooting of cylinder failures, and other machinist level detail activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Experience with and knowledgeable of maintenance and the proper installation/replacement of rolling element bearings, single and double mechanical seals, shaft couplings and rotating shaft assemblies, and general rotating equipment of all types.

  • Procedure use - this includes field use, review, revise, and development of procedures.

  • Experience in the use of the maintenance tools to include measuring tools such as inside/outside micrometers, depth gauges, etc., for shaft to shaft alignment.

  • Current, valid US driver's license.

  • Experience utilizing functional, technical knowledge, company standards and educational background or experience to analyze and solve problems.

  • Able to work on a 4-10 schedule (4 days per week at 10 hours per day) with overtime as dictated by business needs. Participates in an after hour call rotation for night and weekend coverage.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Optic and/or Laser alignment techniques.

  • Familiarity with Extrusion equipment consisting of extruders, pelleters, and gearboxes.

  • Familiarity with Compressor both reciprocating and centrifugal.

  • Machinist background

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements:

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Stand 50% of the time.

  • Walk for extended periods of time

  • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

  • Work in tight and closed in spaces.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator.

  • Our safety equipment has weight restrictions. In order to qualify, you must be able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for someone who weighs 300 pounds or less.


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
