Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Support & Sustain Technologist in Carrollton, KY,
Supports activities relating to the support of process automation systems. Provides preventative maintenance and 7x24 troubleshooting support for installed base systems. Minimizes plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable. Has an overall knowledge of all current hardware, operating system software, networking systems and system software. Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. May act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others.
Responsibilities / Duties
Provides care and troubleshooting of the process automation systems, and their associated networks and interfaces.
Provides corrective support in response to a system error condition or failure as the first point of escalation from the plant.
Performs predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health checks on systems.
Participates in software and hardware upgrades.
Understands and follows all identified Dow Process Automation work processes, such as Problem Resolution and Request Management, S&OP Case entry, Engineering and Maintenance Asset database updates.
Completes small project work including system installation, configuration, design and development.
Tracks and redeploys assets.
Provides training and knowledge transfer to plant system focal points, as well as other site support resources.
Interfaces with others in the Plant who support process control on troubleshooting and upgrades.
Monitors system diagnostics aligned with plan process control staff.
Participates in risk assessment when activities to the system are required.
Escalates issues to additional support resources and follow-ups, as necessary.
Develop and follow through for Service Requests to resolve issues, working directly with Foxboro as needed for escalation support
Conduct Root Cause Investigations and implement corrective actions for all significant system failures or outages
Create Job Plans/Temp SOP's for adding/replacing components (lifecycle management)
Building/owning lab environments for burn-in testing, business continuity, and prototyping
Create/maintain procedures for building/maintaining server and workstation hardware
Manage Backup/Recovery plans
Verifying existing mechanisms
Ensuring healthy backups
Drilling on Disaster recovery procedures
Cyber Security Elements
Manage/document group accounts required for user access
Verify user access (remote and local) is accurate on a regular basis.
Ensure systems are compliant
Identify / Manage system PM tasks for the Foxboro platform.
2 or more years of experience using Siemens PCS7 System Administration with an expert knowledge it.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Have an understanding of Foxboro systems.
Ability to coordinate with support resources within Siemens and Focboro organization to escalate needs and track resolution of issues.
Able work independently as system custodian.
Able to coordinate globally with a network of system administrators and other sites to align approaches and address concern of the business.
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
