With growing adoption of CDP at customers throughout the globe, the need for architects with CDP experience is also growing rapidly. There are not enough experienced CDP solutions architects, inside or outside Cloudera, to fulfill the demand creating a good problem to solve.
To address this Cloudera professional services and training is doubling down on investment to build a world class technical enablement program to produce more gold standard CDP solutions architects. This program will train new hires, existing employees and partners alike in a structured manner. Through an effective combination of self services, class room and architect assisted hands on bootcamp exercises students will be CDP ready when they pass out with credentials to be deployed on customers project as part of Cloudera team.
Program starts with two key foundation tracks CDP Private Cloud and Public Cloud and builds in specializations, use cases and best practices based on the student's foundation skills, but key components will include learning to build hybrid architecture, CDP install, upgrades, data migration and security. Entire program will be executed in an integrated manner through a dedicated Enablement function under our Global Services Portfolio Management organization.
The Global Opportunity (For a Good Solution Architect and this is where you come in !) :
To execute this function with global impact, we are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect with at least 3 years of hands-on architect experience in Cloudera to be part of the portfolio team. This role will be reporting to Director, Portfolio Management and will have the following responsibilities
Creating technical enablement content on all cool CDP tech Public, Private and Beyond
Build enablement success paths and agenda by working with #onecloudera team
Jointly deliver CDP enablement with Cloudera training department
Build and manage a dedicated PS lab environment in YCloud/AWS/Azure
Jointly deliver CDP bootcamp with tech enablement team and certification for grading
Review PS&T delivery best practices, processes, KB resources and helpful tools
Conduct CDP seminars at colleges and assist with university recruiting
Interviews candidates for enrollment and guide/coach them on gaps/prerequisites
Conduct partner in house CDP seminars/workshops ( onsite or remote or international )
Build tools, ansible scripts, accelerators and processes to help our architects globally
Accountable, reliable, self-managing, willing to go above and beyond and contributing
Good communication skills, not shy of facing camera & recording selfie video sessions
Continuous learner, team player, sharing, caring and selfless to help others be successful
Requirements and Expectations
At least 3 years of hands-on architect experience in Cloudera ( CDH/HDP/CDP) with over 5 years in big data / hadoop technologies including a Cloud stack AWS/Azure/GCP
Solid experience in various key activities related to deploying, securing, encryption, data governance, data movement, health check & upgrading Cloudera clusters at customers
Thorough understanding of pre-requisites, cluster design and CDP migration strategy
At least one hands-on migration assessment & CDP upgrade for Customer (CDH/HDP)Ability to convert own implementation experiences and learnings from peers into shareable enablement content using standard communication format such as documents, videos, demo, slides, audio, images, WiKi etc.
Ability to set up/provision environments in YCloud/AWS, troubleshoot and resolve issues
Fully aware of our product stack in various form factors and capable to have a meaningful conversation with anyone who wants to have a CDP conversation
MBO requires 70% of utilization on enablement activities and 30% self-learning
