Job Description:

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Corrosion Control Specialist within the Gulf Coast Pipeline (GCPL) Group at the Louisiana Plaquemine location.

Job Summary:

The purpose of this job is to manage the day to day corrosion control program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day corrosion control program for Gulf Coast Pipeline (GCPL) (which includes Cathodic Protection (CP), coatings, External/Internal corrosion) to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Manage vendors doing CP and coatings work for GCPL (ensure approved vendors are performing quality work and/or seek other vendors if needed).

  • Aligns with Integrity Management Program (IMP) group for Integrity Management in Corrosion Control and be the interface between IMP and CP to overlap schedules for better data collection working closely with the Turnaround (TA) Manager.

  • CP/coatings focal point/representative for new projects.

  • Maintain and monitor LA GCPL CP database.

  • Monitor and communicate status of assets with help of technicians (i.e. rectifier readings).

  • Develop all GCPL CP related expenses.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of cathodic protection experience.

  • Travel of approximately 25%, with some overnights, is expected.

  • Work overtime as needed.

  • Current, valid US driver's license.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Physical Requirements:
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Work and walk in the field, including ditches and swamps, while carrying tools and supplies.

  • Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Stand 50% of the time.

  • Walk for extended periods of time

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.

  • Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.

  • Work in an area with hazardous materials.

  • Manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A National Association of Coating Engineers (NACE) Coatings Inspector Program (CIP) Level II certification.

  • Pipeline corrosion experience.


  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
