Our Lab Technicians perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and microbiological characteristics and aids other Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) functions for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development by performing the following duties.
Follow and improve Lab SOPs and consistently demonstrate basic GLPs (aseptic technique, safety, FIFO)
Complete laboratory testing on all incoming samples in an accurate, efficient and timely manner; ensure sample turnaround time goals are met or exceeded
Develop and maintain sampling schedules for testing programs internal/external as per program: Shelf-life, PFF, FAW, Micro, Salt, pH, etc.
Standardize and maintain shared instruments daily, such as analytical balances and pH meters
Responsible for reporting data, trending results, initiating CAPMs when needed
Perform shelf-life testing to support plant teams, R&D and customer complaints
Review and verify completion of sampling schedules and data entry
Review collection of samples and provide feedback to key stakeholders on performance
Assist with general office/department duties as needed
Enter data into SAP system in a timely and accurate manner and report results to key stakeholders
Rotating schedule of:
Monday to Friday and then
Tuesday to Saturday the following week
Associate's/Bachelor's Degree preferred or Minimum of 3 years experience in laboratory/plant setting with a strong chemistry focus
Strong MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint skills preferred
Ability to readilymodify, respond to and integrate change with minimal personal resistance; identify elements of a problem situation and understand which componentsare critical
Ability to set, pursue and attain achievable goals, regardless of obstacles or circumstances; identify actions necessaryto achieve task completion; set achievable goals, maintain direction in spite of obstacles; stay on course in times of difficulty
