As the Power Electronics (PE) Control Board Engineering - Technical Specialist (TS) you will have the global responsibilities for FCA's PE control board product development and research for all electric vehicle platforms which include mHEV, HEV, PHEV and BEV. The Power Electronics (PE) Control Board Engineering - Technical Specialist (TS) must be a strong systems-focused team player with interdisciplinary experience/expertise, and willing to work in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing cost effective and reliable PE Control Boards using cutting edge technologies, simulation tools, and test and evaluation equipment
Establishing and applying PE Controller best practices from design to product launch, including supporting validation and testing Create, promote, and implement the global FCA technology roadmap for PE Control Boards
Supporting creating Component Specifications from vehicle, system and software requirements including requirements for Durability, Warranty, Safety and Performance at component level
Supporting development of power electronic Control Board DVP&R and all required development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals
Participating in supplier assessments and Critical Design Reviews of PE Control Board requirements, algorithms, and deliverables
Working with the chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs are robust to customer requirements, meet exact function, and are manufacturable without defect
Participating in post-test inspection reviews including detailed failure analysis, and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary
Developing/enhancing PE Control Board Tools, Methods, and Test Platforms
Providing subject matter expertise, mentoring, and managing problem resolution teams
Working with FCA Inverter Hardware Teams and Suppliers
Working with FCA cross-function/vehicle teams, suppliers, and universities to develop/implement advanced technologies for next generation electric vehicle technologies
Maintaining relevant technical documents, best practice, and sign-off documents
