Line Operator - 2nd Shift

The Filling Line Operator Associate will report to the Kitchen Lead for job assignments daily. The Fill Line Operator’s daily functions on the Filling Line will be to prep and operate the Filler assigned. The operator will communicate with the Kitchen Cooks and QA to know when Kettles are being released for their respective Fillers. The Filling Line Operator, will be doing hourly X-ray or Metal detector checks with QA observations. The Fill Line Operator will be required to follow all Quality, GMP, Safety, Production, Training and Housekeeping requirements. The follow all verbal and or written instructions of the Kitchen Lead, Quality Control and Operations Management Team.

Hours: 12:30pm-9pm M-F

Wage: $17.75 per hour

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000; $500 will be paid after 30 days of continuous employment and the remaining $500 after 6 months of continuous employment.

Essential Functions


  • Comply with Required GMP, hair covering and hearing protection policies.

  • Report to Filler work station on time at start up, and after breaks and lunches

  • Filler Operator will review the Work Order prior to setting up the Filler to identify the product for that line.

  • Operator will check the Cups and Lids to ensure they match the Work Order requirements for that line. 

  • Operator will make sure the in-line CRIS system is operation during start up and during operations. Operator will make sure the printer is set up with all information, Lot, Expiry Date, Product ID and check for legibility of printed information. 

  • The Filler Operator will be required to conduct Hourly X-Ray or Metal detector checks per Land O Lakes Quality Standards. 

  • Filler Operator will maintain and operate a radio to communicate with Kitchen Cooks, Kitchen Lead, QA and Maintenance as needed. 

  • Must be able to maintain minimum established Filler speeds i.e. Filler 4 (265 cups per min) 

  • Operator must be technically sound in operating all Filler in the Kitchen. 

  • Operator must report any product that does not meet the CCP 2 or CCP 3 standards to the QA Technician immediately. 

  • Must maintain the “Filling Line Operations Report” filled out during the shift. 

  • Review the “Filling Line Operations Report” with Lead and sign off after it is completed. 

  • Report all Non-Conforming discrepancies to Kitchen Lead, QC and Management immediately. 

  • Report all safety and GMP violations to Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner. 

  • Insure conveyor is washed down frequently to prevent any excess product spillage onto clean product cups 

  • Notify Kitchen Lead and Maintenance of any equipment failures on the Filler assigned. 

  • Conduct and lead the Changeover team on any of the (3) three designated Changeover types for the Fillers. 

  • Check for O-ring serviceability, cleaning and lubricating of cylinders and plungers as required per Filler

  • Ability to read and understand English

  • Follow instructions and support Kitchen Lead maintaining Safety/GMP requirements for the Filler Line

Decision-making: The work instructions are very specific, with little judgment required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Equipment Used: Variety of food processing equipment, hand trucks, carts, baskets.

Education Requirement: High School diploma/GED not required.

Physical Demands:


  • Will need to be able to work in a hot environment where temperatures can vary from 58° to 105° degrees. 

  • Will need to be available to work Overtime, Weekends including Saturday and Sunday based on production needs.

  • Standing Entire shift Pushing/Pulling Frequently Lift Capacity: up to 25 lbs.

  • Occasionally Noise typical of a production environment Entire shift/Hearing Protection Required

Time Demands:

  • On occasion, business demands may require some employees to work overtime.  When overtime is required, employees are expected to work extra hours as required to meet business needs – this is requirement of this position.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.

At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
