The position is located on the North Slope and requires a flexible rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Alpine is provided. Room and meals are provided while on Slope. OurMechanical Superintendentis responsible for estimating, planning, managing, and monitoring all aspects of our North Slope construction projects.
The Mechanical Superintendent will manage Worley's discipline supervisorsand interact with the construction project management team, and client representatives to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements as approved by the company.
Responsibilities
Monitors the activities of crew members and subcontractors performing craftwork, ensuring compliance with project quality, safety, and security requirements.
Ensures that all subordinates are trained on and aware of specifications and work procedures and are utilized to ensure optimal efficiency.
Maintains effective schedule and cost control of craft personnel.
Plans required work activities to ensure all resources are available when needed, including; design drawings, tools, equipment, and materials.
Responsible for safety of supervised personnel; ensures that craft personnel comply with established safety policies and procedures, and that they practice safe work habits.
Initiates and maintains positive working relationships with client representatives within each facility, as well as other internal and external customers to facilitate project activities, understands current and future customer needs, and continually strives to exceed customer expectations.
Possesses an understanding and knowledge of the terms and conditions of contracts, including the scope of work and associated client deliverables. Manages work in accordance with project goals, contract and customer requirements and expectations, including performance, quality, compliance and safety as outlined in the contract terms and conditions.
Adheres to Work Execution Plan expectations, including assigning work in accordance with work management processes and ensures the safe execution of work within the planned and approved scope, job plans, timelines and approved budgets.
Evaluates risks, consequences and impacts of activities on customers and other key individuals as well as what in the business may potentially cause harm to people or property.
Supports the organization-wide approach to continuous improvement (CI) by working to improve processes, procedures and systems through CI initiatives, measurement and evaluation
Drives, promotes and instills a culture of "Safety Leadership" that is incident and injury free and in which all employees feel responsible for safety and pursue it on a daily basis.

Educates and trains employees on the requirement to assess the risks applicable to tasks and required work. Ensures they have the understanding and capability to implement appropriate procedures and/or controls to reduce risk to an acceptable level and that each use any required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Monitors training and compliance with contract and company safety and environmental procedures and policies; documents and ensures that corrective measures are implemented when required
Participates in, and supports, the Alaska Competency Assurance Program including completion of assessments for staff as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong planning and organizational skills
Proven ability to plan, coordinate and execute high priority jobs in a timely manner that involve multiple crafts (drillsite operation, general maintenance, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, electrical, etc.)
Ability and knowledge to interpret civil, structural, and piping design drawings, including P&IDs as well as electrical diagrams
Knowledge of technical and safety policies, procedures and standards applicable to industrial construction, including welding.
Ability to communicate clear direction to work crew leads, craft persons, management, and client representatives
Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers; and demonstrate commitment to established safety policies and procedures
Ability to direct and motivate others in planning and scheduling work execution
Ability to recognize and correct gaps in the safe execution of construction work scopes
Ability to effectively manage and lead construction crews
Possess strong leadership and supervisory skills

Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination. Lift 20 lbs from floor to knuckle level x 2 with a 12 second interval,
Carry Test: Carry 20 lbs with one hand for a minimum distance of 25 ft x 2.Self-paced but continuous. (Allow a 60 second rest break between carry tests.)
Stairs: Climb 1 flight of stairs, 12 steps per flight x 5 for a total of 60 steps. Self-paced, but continuous. (Allow a 60 second rest break after climbing up and down 30 steps.)
Stair Climb and Carry: While carrying 20 lbs with one hand and holding onto a railing with the other hand for safety, walk up and down 12 steps x 2 for a total of 24 steps. Self-paced, but continuous.
Minimum oftwo (2) years of experience as Discipline Superintendent required
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in heavy industrial construction and/or maintenance required
Valid driver's license and ability to be covered by Worley's auto insurer
Minimum of five(5) years North Slope experience is required
