Summary:  The Vice President, Private School leads the planning and implementation of leadership, instructional and operational supports for all Stride, Inc. Private Schools. This position analyzes, interprets and translates data to guide instructional strategies and plans, and demonstrates a deep commitment to the value of private school education and the promise of leadership development at all levels of school programs and academic instruction for improving the lives of students. This position is expected to drive aggressive growth strategies to grow the Private School offering by developing and maintaining partnerships with schools, government entities, sports academies, professional groups, religious organizations, and other organizations to explore opportunities to provide products and services.

  • Develop and strategically manage relationships and formal business partnerships with schools, government entities, associations and other groups to promote Stride as the foremost provider of online courses for members.

  • Conduct active outreach to promote the use of Stride programs; Independently leads new business development initiatives to increase sales of Stride products, including the development of blended learning programs, hybrid schools and dual diploma programs.

  • Manage full cycle development processes including prospecting, relationship-building, proposal development and contract negotiations.

  • Attain enrollment objectives established by management.

  • Contribute to the on-going formulation of Stride strategy and implementation planning and works collaboratively with team members to realize the strategy.

  • Provide ongoing relationship management and account support for existing Stride business partnerships in coordination with the Stride Private Schools Operations team.

  • Demonstrate understanding of and supports Stride’s mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

  • Oversee and grows multiple private school programs with bottom-line responsibility for both fiscal, enrollment and academic performance.

  • Supports Private school leadership in effective and efficient budget and human resource management.

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships across Stride’s shared service departments to ensure school programs receive necessary support

  • Liaise with the Stride marketing department to develop ongoing sales and marketing campaigns.

  • Coordinate with Stride finance and legal departments to deliver business contracts.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 1 to 5 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Required Qualifications 


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, education or a related field OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

Other Required Qualifications: 


  • Strong knowledge of K-12 education market, systems and networks

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively through various mediums (presentations, phone, email, web conferences, etc.)

  • Ability to prospect and develop business partnerships

  • Team player approach, proven ability to work successfully with teams and individuals

  • Ability to maintain multiple development projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel; Web proficiency.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Ability to pass required background check
