If you are an Accounting & Finance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our St. Louis, MO location, you will be responsible for providing general accounting support to the Emerson Tool Company Finance team in the areas of month end close, financial statement preparation, account reconciliation and oversight to shared service center accountant. You will work across departments and world areas in order to ensure the success of the department and their reporting out metrics.  AS A GENERAL ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR, YOU WILL: 


  • Review of journal entries and reconciliations prepared by general accountant located at our shared service center.
  • Preparation of manual journal entries related to standard accruals, promotion accruals, freight, and capital expenditures.
  • Preparation and maintenance of internal reports used during close (sales, expenses, financials)
  • Various monthly/quarterly/annual reports including but not limited to Sales promotional analysis, Real & Personal Property Information, Leased Equipment, escheated checks, Tax Workpapers, and business interruption.         
  • Responsible for deposit and manual journal related to checks received on site.                        
  • Preparation of freight accrual and detail based on actuals.                                    
  • Maintenance of the ETC consolidated ICQ (Internal Control Questionnaire) database.         
  • Ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

WHO YOU ARE:You understand the meaning and implications of key financial indicators.  You stage activities with relevant milestones and schedules.  You break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions.  You establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results. You make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Three (3+) years of increasing responsibility within in Finance or Accounting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial data, and identifying and resolving problems with minimum supervision
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency in technical writing, analysis, and general presentation
  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Oracle and Hyperion experience

Schedule
We offer the flexilibty of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting their customers.
