Summary

The Health Services and Revenue Management Analytics team's mission is to provide operational and analytical support to our partners, promote sustained revenue growth and management, and improve customer value and affordability for Cigna Medicare. We accomplish this through data driven analytics, strategic insights, and cross departmental collaboration with our Cigna matrix partners.

The Business Analytics Advisor will be responsible for providing & facilitating strategic analytics on both emerging and establish enterprise affordability initiatives. This resource will be asked to conceptualize, perform and communicate outcomes of enterprise initiatives using healthcare claims data, clinical outcomes data, and financial data. The advisor will be asked to take initiative and prospectively analyze complex programs in Utilization Management and Care Management as well as facilitate and organize the tracking and trending of contracting/network related affordability initiatives. In addition, this resource will act as the liaison between market finance teams & enterprise matrix partners as we work to value, track, trend and inform our Medicare Affordability strategy.

Responsibilities

• Initiate & conceptualize prospective/retrospective analytics using SQL Programming, Teradata and Tableau
  
  


• Develop robust knowledge of network/contracting affordability initiatives and communicate projected vs realized savings to matrix partners
  
  


• Provide consultation to GD&A analytics partners regarding the meaning of data and how to best utilize the information to build out prospective evaluations
  
  


• Apply investigative skills and analytical methods to look behind the numbers, assess business impact, and make recommendations through use of healthcare analytics
  
  


• Prepare data and trends in digestible format for matrix partners across a highly matrixed segment
  
  


• Lead the completion of fast-paced affordability projects as requested by internal business partners
  
  


• Demonstrate healthcare experience in quantifying, measuring and analyzing financial and utilization metrics
  
  


• Simultaneously manage multiple assignments, working independently and with other teams and analysts
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years increasingly complex database and data management responsibilities or equivalent combination of experience and education
  
  


• Advanced SQL database management and query design skills
  
  


• Data Visualization skills (Tableau preferred)
  
  


• Ability to collaborate with all levels (technical analysts, IT, leadership, etc.)
  
  


• Self-starter with the ability to think critically to solve business problems
  
  


• Exceptional time management skills & project management experience
  
  


• Healthcare experience preferred
