Job Description:

The Environmental Business Line of Arcadis is seeking a Toxicologist/Water Quality Scientist to join our world-class firm. The preferred location for this position is in the western US but Arcadis has offices throughout the US and the specific location for this position is flexible. This full-time position within our Product Stewardship Solutions and Risk Assessment groups will support our diverse needs for risk assessment and toxicology (human health and aquatic), and fate and transport modeling. The ideal candidate will possess great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and will be capable of working as a productive member of a high-performance team.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Supporting project needs associated with aquatic and human health toxicology and risk-based assessments.
  • Analyzing and interpreting field data.
  • Conducting dose-response modeling.
  • Preparing visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of environmental data and trends.
  • Preparing high-quality technical reports.
  • Supporting proposal efforts.
  • Performing project related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
  • Designing and implementing site-specific water quality and toxicology assessments
  • Conducting fate and transport modeling for plant protection products
  • Analyzing spatial data using ArcGIS
  • Developing and testing of innovative tools and creative data visualization solutions
  • Conducting statistical analysis of scientific data, including hypothesis testing, time-series analysis, background assessments, etc.
  • Representing Arcadis and our clients at professional organizations, workshops, industry groups, and regulatory agency meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • PhD in Environmental Science, Environmental or Human Health Toxicology, or closely related field
