The Role
Korn Ferry’s Surveys & Listening business is a global leader in employee opinion research. Through the customized survey programs we create we provide our clients with research-based diagnostic and consulting services to help them improve their business performance. We work closely with our clients to take action based on the results of our survey-based research and offer expertise in helping our clients to engage and motivate their people, attract and retain talent and improve operating efficiency.

Principal Consultants will work closely with colleagues to deliver complex and/or customized and/or multi work-stream solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
Key Accountabilities
The purpose of the role is to deliver insights, support client efforts to take action on survey findings and serve as a strategic advisor in helping clients engage and enable their workforce to drive high levels of performance and achieve desired business results. The role focuses on business outcomes. Interaction with client stakeholders on our mid to large-scale projects, and to build and maintain strong client relationships to retain clients, help to ensure future KF business and identify new opportunities within the client for Surveys & Listening and other parts of Korn Ferry.
Handle multiple large sized projects working with U.S. and global clients.
Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with client stakeholders (e.g., VPs, line managers) on our mid- to large-scale projects. Gains an understanding of client’s business needs and strategic objectives and acts as a strategic advisor.
Act as subject matter expert/strategic advisor on organizational measurement programs (e.g., Employee Engagement surveys, Employee Lifecycle programs, Onboarding surveys and Exit surveys, DEI surveys) for key clients, and provide oversight and guidance to project team
Conduct client stakeholder interviews and analyses (e.g., senior leadership teams, HR leadership, functional and business leadership) to gain buy-in and guide program development
Develop communication programs and solutions based on deep understanding of client’s business and human capital needs
Partner with project team, research team, other Korn Ferry practices, and client contacts to analyze survey results, formulate interpretation, and identify organizational strengths and opportunities
Develop, recommend and implement post-survey improvement efforts that will meet/increase the client’s return on investment
Provides leadership on action planning and implementation initiatives for organizational improvement.
Contribute to internal initiatives as needed – e.g. development of best-practice resources to drive Surveys & Listening thought leadership, process improvement efforts, etc.
Coach and train client stakeholder groups through one-on-one interviews/coaching sessions, training sessions
Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with clients in an effort to create opportunities for project extensions, cross-selling, and referrals to new prospects
Support others in writing proposals/responding to RFPs and RFIs
Contribute to the development of the division’s strategic plan for marketing and selling Korn Ferry’s Surveys & Listening business
Skills & Experience
Essential: Advanced degree (e.g. MBA, Masters, PHD), Background in Psychology or associated discipline
Essential: Experience in one or more of the following: employee engagement, organizational surveys/diagnostics, change management, organizational development, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, diversity equity and inclusion, human resources, or related field.
5 - 7 years’ experience of working with managers and executives in an external or internal consulting role.
Direct client contact experience and ability/interest in client relationship management. Ideal candidates will have experience of working with blue-chip clients at middle management level, as well as projects with complex methodologies.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills.
Strong Project Management experience & facilitation skills in several different types of settings/environments.
Ability to diagnose complex client issues to design practical solutions that meet our clients’ needs.
Ability to successfully direct multiple projects and ensure quality deliverables on time and within budget.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Proficiency with SPSS/SAS is advantageous
Availability to travel on an as needed basis (roughly 33%)
