Job Description:

Performs repair and preventive maintenance on diagnostic imaging equipment and systems to ensure safe and appropriate operations.

Full-Time Position (80 Hours Per Pay Period)

Shift: Day        Days: Varied

SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Essential job requirements listed in bold)

• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

• Knowledge of electronic theory, technology and test equipment

• Knowledge of radiologic theory and technology

• Knowledge of safety precautions when servicing high voltages and working with ionizing radiation

• Knowledge of mechanical systems and tools

• Ability to analyze electronic, electromechanical and mechanical equipment

• Ability to isolate, test and replace defective parts

• Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections

• Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration and tests

• Ability to run diagnostic programs

• Skill in testing electronic, radiologic and mechanical equipment

• Skill in manual dexterity, hand to eye coordination and color vision

• Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public

• Knowledge of basic networking theory

• Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position

• Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES (Essential job requirements listed in bold)

• Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronics or military courses in biomedical equipment technology is highly desirable. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

EXPERIENCE (Essential job requirements listed in bold)

• A minimum of four years related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment and diagnostic imaging systems

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements

• Able to stand, climb, stoop, bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity

• May be required to lift up to 75 pounds

• Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces

• Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs

• Needs adequate color vision. Must wear protective clothing as required.

• May be required to travel to various locations

• Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
